This genus of cephalopods contains four species that live in tropical and subtropical oceans. They get their name from the long transparent webs that connect some of the arms of the adult females. Unlike other cephalopods, the genus doesn't have ink to ward off predators, so
the 'blanket' acts as a defense mechanism, making the animal look much larger and scarier than it really is.
The first time I heard the news, I thought that this was just a fluke or some kind of a jokes that scattered all over the internet. Out of my curiosity, I Begun to do some research about this dead cat that was turned into a flying helicopter by a Dutch Artist. And here what I have learned. This story is definitely a fact.
Bart Jansen, a Dutch Artist, known for his undeniable love for his pet cat named Orville . One day, Sad news strike to the Dutch artist life, Orville died.So Bart decided to preserve the memory of his loving pet cat by creating something unusual. So he took the cat to a taxidermist, and together, they created a mold that little Orville’s coat could be applied to.
Out of Mr Jansen creativity, He with the help of the taxidermist turned the dead cat into a quad rotor flying machine. They called it Orvillecopter, But let just call it a Dead Cat helicopter.

Neuschwanstein Castle of Germany is our latest features on the segment of this blog named Places to Visit Before You Die. I will share a little information and history of this amazing castle in Germany.
Neuschwanstein Castle (German: Schloss Neuschwanstein, pronounced [nɔʏˈʃvaːnʃtaɪn]) is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill
above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as an homage to Richard Wagner. Contrary to common belief[citation needed], Ludwig paid for the palace out of his personal fortune and extensive borrowing, not with Bavarian public funds.
The palace was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king, but it was opened to the paying public immediately after his death in 1886. Since then over 60 million people have visited Neuschwanstein Castle. More than 1.3 million people visit annually, with up to 6,000 per day in the summer. The palace has appeared prominently in several movies and was the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle and later, similar structures.
The municipality of Schwangau lies at an elevation of 800 m (2,620 ft) at the south west border of the German state of Bavaria. Its surroundings are characterized by the transition between the Alpine foothills in the south (towards the nearby Austrian border) and a hilly landscape in the north that appears flat by comparison. In the Middle Ages, three castles overlooked the villages.
One was called Schwanstein Castle. In 1832, Ludwig's father King Maximilian II of Bavaria bought its ruins to replace them by the comfortable neo-Gothic palace known as Hohenschwangau Castle. Finished in 1837, the palace became his family's summer residence, and his elder son Ludwig (born 1845) spent a large part of his childhood here.
Vorderhohenschwangau Castle and Hinterhohenschwangau Castle sat on a rugged hill overlooking Schwanstein Castle, two nearby lakes (Alpsee and Schwansee), and the village. Separated only by a moat, they jointly consisted of a hall, a keep, and a fortified tower house. In the 19th century only ruins remained of the medieval twin castles, but those of Hinterhohenschwangau served as a lookout place known as Sylphenturm.

Do you believe in fairies? If yes, then you must also believe in this orchids from Mediterranean. Known as Orchis italica , Naked Man Orchid and even Italian Orchid. this orchid is said to be a deadly trap for fairies.
This lovely orchid which flowers in April in the Mediterranean can form flowers in a dense spike which vary from pale to dark pink. The Naked Man Orchid can grow up to 50 cm in height and is widespread throughout the Mediterranean often forming dense colonies. Apparently when these were first discovered, people thought they were sexual stimulants! And they would put them into a drink called Salep and sometimes called Sallop in the Middle East.
The plant is also found growing in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece, the Aegean Islands, Turkey, Cyprus, Malta, Syria, Lebannon, Israel, Jordan and Northern Africa at elevations around 1300 meters.
Socotra has been described as one of the most alien-looking place on Earth, and it’s not hard to see why.
Socotra is considered the jewel of biodiversity in the Arabian Sea. The long geological isolation of the Socotra archipelago and its fierce heat and drought have combined to create a unique and spectacular endemic flora. It is very isolated with a harsh, dry climate and as a result a third of its plant-life is found nowhere else, including the famous Dragon’s Blood Tree, a very-unnatural looking umbrella-shaped tree which produces red sap. There are also a large number of birds, spiders and other animals native to the island, and coral reefs around it which similarly have a large number of endemic (i.e. only found there) species. Socotra is considered the most biodiverse place, and is a World Heritage Site.

A group of engineers and scientist discovered a new species near a river in Brazil that connected to Amazon. They called it Atretochoana eiseltiis , also known as caecilian, which some people might know as a limbless amphibian.

I got a little curious and done some research about the biggest Dog in the World. Searching it in Google made it a lot easier. And I found out that the biggest dog in the world is A male Great Dane from Arizona. His Name is George, 7ft long and having a 18 stone weight.
We certainly never dreamed he would one day become the biggest dog in the world, standing nearly 4ft high at the shoulder, 7ft long and weighing nearly 18 stone. Right now, he just looked bewildered.
This is what his owner describe him.He is not just a typical dog because George is more attached to a human more than any other dog.Making him more emotionally sensitive. He loves to be cuddle by his master. He got fears in a water and growls every time he was putted near a swimming pool.Despite his size, the funny thing is, George is terrified every time he saw a smaller dog like chihuahuas.

If you are planning to design a garden, let me share you a brief information on the most beautiful garden i know.sThe Butchart Garden is a group of floral display gardens in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Canada, located near Victoria on Vancouver Island. The gardens receive more than a million visitors each year. The gardens have been designated a National Historic Site of Canada due to their international renown.
HISTORY
Robert Pim Butchart (1856–1943) began manufacturing Portland cement in 1888 near his birthplace of Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. He and his wife Jennie Butchart (1866–1950) came to the west coast of Canada because of rich limestone deposits necessary for cement production.
The Ross Fountain
In 1904, they established their home near his quarry on Tod Inlet at the base of the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island.
In 1907, 65 year old garden designer Isaburo Kishida of Yokohama came to Victoria, at the request of his son, to build a tea garden for Esquimalt Gorge Park. This garden was wildly popular and a place to be seen. Several prominent citizens, Jennie Butchart among them, commissioned Japanese gardens from Kishida for their estates. He returned to Japan in 1912.
In 1909, when the limestone quarry was exhausted, Jennie set about turning it into the Sunken Garden, which was completed in 1921. They named their home "Benvenuto" ("welcome" in Italian), and began to receive visitors to their gardens. In 1926, they replaced their tennis courts with an Italian garden and in 1929 they replaced their kitchen vegetable garden with a large rose garden to the design of Butler Sturtevant of Seattle. Samuel Maclure, who was consultant to the Butchart Gardens, reflected the aesthetic of the English Arts and Crafts Movement.
In 1939, the Butcharts gave the Gardens to their grandson Ian Ross (1918–1997) on his 21st birthday. Ross was involved in the operation and promotion of the gardens until his death 58 years later.
In 1953, miles of underground wiring was laid to provide night illumination, to mark the 50th anniversary of The Gardens. In 1964, the ever-changing Ross Fountain was installed in the lower reservoir to celebrate the 60th anniversary. In 1994, the Canadian Heraldic Authority granted a coat of arms to the Butchart Gardens. In 2004, two 30-foot (9.1 m) totem poles were installed to mark the 100th anniversary, and The Gardens were designated as a national historic site.
Ownership of The Gardens remains within the Butchart family; the owner and managing director since 2001 is the Butcharts' great-granddaughter Robin-Lee Clarke.

In December, 2009 the Children's Pavilion and the Rose Carousel were opened. The menagerie includes thirty animals ranging from bears, to horses, to ostriches, to zebras and mirrors the world from which The Gardens draws its visitors. The designs were hand picked by the owner, in consultation with an artist from North Carolina. The carvings were done by some of the few remaining carvers of carousel art. Each animal is carved from basswood and took many months to complete. There are also two chariots able to accommodate disabled persons.
COLLECTIONS
Birds
While Mrs. Butchart collected plants, Mr. Butchart collected ornamental birds from all over the world, having a parrot in the house, ducks in the Star Pond and peacocks on the front lawn. He built several elaborate birdhouses for the gardens and trained pigeons on the site of the present-day Begonia Bower.
Statuary
Several bronze statues are displayed in the gardens.
One, of a wild boar, purchased on a Mediterranean trip in 1973, was cast in Florence, a replica of a 1620 bronze cast by Pietro Tacca. It is called "Tacca" in honor of the sculptor and, just as the original's, its snout is shiny from the many visitors rubbing it for luck.
Another, nearby in front of the residence, of a donkey and foal is by Sirio Tofanari. A fountain statue of three sturgeon, also by Tofanari, is installed near the Japanese garden.
In 1993, "Circle of Doves", which Ann-Lee Ross gave her husband Ian in 1991 to commemorate their 50th wedding anniversary, was installed in front of the begonia bower.
In the summer of 2008, The Gardens introduced the Jennie B, an electrically driven 12-passenger boat, which plys the local coastlines in the summer giving visitors an appreciation of the waterside history plus coastal aquatic plants and animals.

The Rose Carousel, crafted by Brass Ring Entertainment of Sun Valley, California is the only carousel on Vancouver Island. The designs were hand picked by Robin Clarke, The Gardens' owner and great grand daughter of Jennie Butchart, in consultation with an artist from North Carolina. There are also two chariots able to accommodate disabled persons.
The Rose Carousel is housed within the 700 sq m (7,534 sq ft) Children’s Pavilion, which has a dome with a 23m (75 ft) clear span, a full-fronted glass façade and a roof planted with native plant species. The pavilion also has an event room for such things as children’s birthday parties.
Environment
In the early days, weekly symphony concerts were hosted by Mr and Mrs. Butchart. These were often held for guests of the family, but later attracted a larger audience. More recently, in the Summer Season (July and August) and during the Winter Holiday Season they provide a wide range of local entertainment, from Jazz to classical music. Also, The Weeds, a band made up of staff members from The Gardens, sometimes plays during the Summer Season. In 1977, Ian Ross's son Christopher (1944–2000) introduced firework shows accompanied by show tunes on summer Saturday evenings. During the Winter, lights and seasonal decorations adorn the gardens along with an ice-skating rink in the Waterwheel Square.

The World's fastest man without legs. 21 years old Oscar Pistorious.Born without Fibula on his leg. Oscar is now using a prosthetic called the cheetah to walk and run. His dream is always been the Olympics.
Today, Oscar is now set to make both history and inspiration. The Blade Runner will represents the South Africa as the first ever athlete to compete with a artificial leg. It will be very interesting to watch this man set a record in a 400 m run. Don't forget to watch him compete with runners with mere biological legs.
